A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Dania Beach man killed last week in Coral Springs, though he is not charged with killing the victim, authorities said.
T’vano Rolle, 22, was taken into custody after detectives developed information identifying him as being involved in the May 14 shooting death of Khameran Jackson, according to the Coral Springs Police Department. Rolle was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. No murder charge or other charge reflecting the homicide has been announced.
Jackson, of Dania Beach, was shot in the area of the 2500 block of Riverside Drive at approximately 2:52 a.m. on May 14. Multiple 911 callers reported the shooting, with at least one caller describing hearing six to seven gunshots.
Officers found Jackson on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound and immediately began lifesaving efforts, police said. Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department personnel continued emergency medical care on scene, but could not save Jackson.
Police did not release additional information about Rolle’s alleged crime.
The investigation remains active, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact CSPD Detective Luis Atiles at 954-346-1219 or by email at lartiles@coralsprings.gov.
