A man is facing felony burglary and assault charges after police say he forced his way into an employee area of a Chick-fil-A to fill a beverage cup he brought from home.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department report, the incident occurred on June 2 at the Chick-fil-A located at 1341 N University Dr, Coral Springs. The suspect, identified as Ralph Maurice Auguste, 31, of Coral Springs, allegedly entered the restaurant carrying a Chick-fil-A cup that he had not purchased that day.
Records show that when a staff member informed him he could not use the cup and attempted to throw it away, Auguste became irate and physically abusive. Witnesses told police that Auguste pushed the employee in the chest after she tried to prevent him from entering a back area reserved for staff only.
The affidavit states that Auguste shoved past her, entered the restricted area to retrieve the discarded cup from the trash, and then fled the scene.
Police located Auguste nearby on University Drive. Officers arrested Auguste on the scene and transported him to the Broward County Main Jail.
