A man was fatally shot in Coral Springs Monday morning, police said.
The shooting happened in the area of the 200 block of Lakeview Drive shortly before 9:40 a.m., according to Coral Springs Police.
Officers arrived at 9:41 a.m. and found the wounded man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Police and Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department first-responders treated the man at the scene, where he died. His name was not immediately made public.
A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
No arrests had been announced as of Monday afternoon, but police “do have one individual [who was at the scene] that we are speaking to about the incident at this time, not under arrest, not detained,” Coral Springs Police Chief Bradley McKeone said in a Facebook video post on Monday.
No additional suspects are being sought in connection with the killing, police said.
“There is no threat to the community,” McKeone said.
