A Coral Springs man armed with a stun gun robbed a Margate massage parlor last week, attacking an employee and demanding she remove her top during the crime, court records show.
Anthony Banks, 22, of 3607 NW 114th Ln, entered Asian Massage at 632 S. State Rd. 7 on Sept. 22 and asked a shop worker about pricing, police said. Next, he walked behind the counter holding a pink stun gun and grabbed the victim by her mouth, according to an arrest affidavit.
The terrified woman told Banks she had a daughter and offered him money not to hurt her, according to the records. She handed him $61 in cash, hoping he would leave, the affidavit states.
Instead, Banks grabbed the woman again and tried to pull her to the back of the shop while demanding she take her shirt off, the records allege.
The victim threw herself to the ground and began screaming for help, which apparently caused Banks to flee, according to the Margate Police Department.
Banks was caught in the area after a foot chase with police, records show.
The victim positively identified Banks as her attacker, police said.
He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail on charges of robbery with a weapon, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest.
Record show he was released on a $10,000 bond.
