A manhunt unfolded in Coral Springs Thursday after multiple people fled from a vehicle during a Florida Highway Patrol traffic stop near 11800 Lakeview Drive, authorities said.
According to the Coral Springs Police Department, FHP initiated the stop in the area, at which point several occupants bailed out of the vehicle and ran from the scene.
FHP deployed significant resources as part of the search effort, including a helicopter assisting from the air.
Coral Springs Police said the department had no direct involvement in the stop or the ensuing manhunt. They said their units later cleared the area.
Authorities have not released additional details about the suspects or the reason for the traffic stop. It was not immediately clear whether any arrests were made.
