Phat Boy Sushi & Kitchen is making Coral Springs the location of their fourth South Florida location.
Still early in the development process, the newest restaurant to move into The Walk signed a lease last week with Amera Corporation.
The original Phat Boy Sushi & Kitchen opened in April 2016 in Oakland Park, with a menu boasting fresh takes on sushi and other Japanese classics served in a laid-back and chill setting.
Located at 2752 North University Drive, near Kilwin’s Chocolates & Ice Cream and BurgerFi, the new restaurant will be right in the heart of The Walk. At approximately 5,900 sq. ft., the location was most recently home for less than a year to Cubanera Restaurant & Bar and previously housed the Gold Coast Grill.
Owner Ted Moser said, “We have been looking to expand our restaurants for a couple of years now, we truly believe that The Walk in Coral Springs will be a great fit for our next location.”

Moser said the new Coral Springs location would have the same great menu as the others, as well as a new kids’ menu and great happy hour.
“This location will be the first of all Phat Boys to have a full bar with great craft cocktails for our customers to enjoy,” he said.
Other Phat Boy Sushi & Kitchen locations are in Oakland Park, Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and Deerfield Beach.
According to Gillian Johnson, Marketing and Community Relations representative from Amera Corp, the new owner has plans to participate in the upcoming Coral Springs Festival of the Arts on March 21 and 22 to promote the new restaurant.
Although they are in the very beginning stages, Moser said they plan to have the Coral Springs location open by June 1.
