Residents of Coral Springs looking to safely dispose of sensitive documents will have an opportunity to do so at the city’s upcoming Shred-A-Thon event.
Hosted by the Coral Springs Police Department in partnership with Shred Monkeys, the free event will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Sportsplex, located at 2575 Sportsplex Drive.
The touchless shredding event is exclusively for Coral Springs residents and aims to help prevent identity theft by securely destroying confidential paperwork. To participate, residents must place their driver’s license on the front dashboard for verification upon arrival.
Each vehicle is permitted to bring up to three file-size cardboard boxes or reusable bins of documents for shredding at no cost. Additional boxes—up to three more—will be accepted with a $5 donation per box, benefiting the Police Explorer Program. Plastic and garbage bags will not be accepted, and all paperwork must be free of trash, plastic, or metal items such as rings, binders, or clamps.
Boxes and bins must not exceed 15x12x10 inches and should be stored in the vehicle’s trunk or another easily accessible area to minimize contact with event staff. The event will operate on a first come, first served basis until the maximum capacity is reached.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date. For additional information, residents can call 954-346-1311.
