Ramblewood Middle School recently gained historical knowledge and accolades by participating in the Sergeant Moses Adams Memorial Middle School Brochure Contest.
Held annually by the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, this year’s brochure contest featured the submission of 358 trifold brochures detailing pivotal events and documents from the Revolutionary War era.
The contest specifically encouraged students to explore significant American history topics such as the Boston Tea Party and the First Continental Congress.
Ramblewood Middle School’s Gianna Manns’s brochure on the Bill of Rights won her first place and a prize of $150. Two additional students, Alicia York and Kailani Quintana, secured top honors in second and third place, respectively, with prizes of $100 and $50.
York’s entry detailed the Boston Tea Party, while Quintana focused on the First Continental Congress.
In addition to the prize money, Gianna Manns’s winning entry has earned her a spot in the upcoming SAR state-level competition scheduled for May in Orlando, where her brochure on the Bill of Rights will represent Ramblewood Middle School and the Fort Lauderdale SAR Chapter.
