Register Now for the Teen Ambassador Program at the Broward Center

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts offers an exciting opportunity for high school students in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties to explore the world of performing arts.

The Center is accepting applications for its unique Teen Ambassador Program, providing students with a comprehensive glimpse into the world of arts, journalism, and marketing.

As Teen Ambassadors, students can gain first-hand experience in the field of arts while also earning community service hours.

The Broward Center offers a myriad of experiences, including attending a range of performances free of charge, participating in master classes, going on backstage tours, and attending monthly meetings.

The program, which selects up to 24 students annually, commences in October and concludes in May.

But the role of Teen Ambassadors extends beyond merely spectating; these high school students also play a crucial role in connecting the Center with the broader community.

Through their personal social media accounts and the Teen Ambassador website, they document their experiences, creating written and video reviews of live performances.

These teens provide a unique perspective, contributing to a broader understanding of various performance styles and genres.

The eligibility criteria for the program require students to be at the high school level as of August 2023, maintain an unweighted B average, have access to a computer and at least one social media account, and commit to attending one meeting and one performance at the Broward Center per month.

Students must submit their 2022/2023 report card and a letter of recommendation from a non-parent or guardian figure, and a parent or legal guardian must sign all applications for those under 18.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 28, and must be submitted via email. It’s important to note that applications sent by mail or in person, or those submitted by a parent or guardian on behalf of the student, will not be accepted. All applicants will be informed about their status by September 25.
