Sawgrass Springs Middle School {BCPS}
By Ryan Yousefi
Sawgrass Springs Middle School is preparing for a new academic year with an event designed to equip students for their return to the classroom.
Sawgrass Springs Middle School will host its annual Gator Camp Schedule Handout event on Thursday, August 17, on the school’s campus at 12500 West Sample Road.
The event is organized to provide new and returning students and their families with an opportunity to introduce and reacquaint themselves with the school’s faculty and facilities while obtaining their schedules for the upcoming academic year.
For incoming 6th graders and their families, a schedule and orientation session will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon. This dedicated session for incoming new students will be catered to ensure they receive a smooth transition as they begin their middle school journey.
Soon after, 7th and 8th graders will have their turn to pick up their schedules and chat with faculty from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. During this time, students will receive their schedules for the upcoming year, giving them a sneak peek into their classes and extracurricular activities.
For new and returning students, Gator Camp will feature guided tours of the school and an opportunity to chat with representatives from various school departments, including the cafeteria, transportation, and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to learn about lunch options, bus routes, and extracurricular involvement. Parents will also learn more about getting involved with the school community through the PTA.
