Rotary Club of Coral Springs Works to Distribute Constitutions

Members of the Rotary Club of Coral Springs want young people to learn about the U.S. Constitution.

They are working with the 917 Society to deliver about 3,000 copies of the Constitution to eighth-grade students at middle schools in Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Margate, and Tamarac.

“We believe it is important for young people to know about the Constitution, and our members will go to the middle schools to deliver them,” said Sal Golfo, a member of Rotary.

Coconut Creek Vice Mayor John Brodie will help distribute copies to schools in his city.

The 917 Society was established four years ago by Mery Lopez-Palma to educate students about the Constitution. Constitution Day is on September 17, and the organization gets its name from that date.

Teachers use the copies as teaching tools in all eighth-grade classes in Broward County. Many Rotary Club members will distribute copies to middle schools throughout Broward from now until September 12.
