Behind a brilliant performance from Coral Glades pitcher Emanuel Sohit, the team picked up their first postseason victory this year on Monday night.
The Jaguars defeated Piper High School 5-0 as Sohit pitched six innings and did not allow a run. He also struck out eight before Elijah Leon recorded the final three outs.
Offensively, Leon, Anthony Quigley, and Ashton Singpradith all had RBI’s. Nick Basso and Andre Juhasz both had two hits, while Juhasz swiped two bases. Evan Puccio and Trace Thelwell both scored runs as well in the win.
This was the team’s 13th victory of the season, and they go on to face J.P. Taravella, who had a bye in the opening round for the District tournament and won 13 of 17 games this season. First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m.
