At 8:59 pm Thursday, a Coral Springs K9 officer went to conduct a traffic stop at Sample Road and Riverside Drive on a white Camero car after it ran a red light at that intersection. However, the vehicle refused to stop and continued to Forest Hill Boulevard where officers called off the chase shortly after the suspect vehicle crashed with a dark blue Mazda Tribune SUV that had one female occupant, causing it to rollover and crash into trees.
The female had minor injuries and was transported to Broward Heath Coral Springs. The suspects in the white Camero were two black males, who fled from the vehicle after the wreck. A perimeter was set up and both subjects were located and taken into custody. At this time, Coral Springs Police do not have all the charges that are pending, but were advised the driver also had an active warrant for Burglary.
There was a call of a female who was robbed at gun point near Sample and University within the same time frame, but it is unclear at this time if it is related.
