A new destination for LEGO enthusiasts is officially opening its doors in Coral Springs this Labor Day weekend. The BRICK Shop, located at 833 W. Atlantic Blvd., will host a three-day grand opening beginning Saturday, Aug. 30.
Hours for the celebration are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on August 30, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 31, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on September 1, at 8333 W Atlantic Blvd.
Billed as the only shop of its kind in South Florida, The BRICK Shop offers a space where creators can build their own masterpieces and shop for resale LEGO sets at bargain prices. The store also features hundreds of individual pieces and customized LEGO bricks not found elsewhere.
Some guests have traveled from as far as Germany to participate, including a supplier who first connected with the Forthofer family after watching The Brick Show, a YouTube channel originally hosted by founder Stephen Forthofer.
The opening weekend will also include appearances from LEGO Master Builders from Orlando and YouTube LEGO influencers.
The Forthofer family has been in the business for 16 years, with Stephen and his daughters working together since the girls were young.
On Friday, Aug. 29, family and friends attended a sneak peek event to bless the store and surrounding businesses before its public debut.
The BRICK Shop marks the family’s expansion from an idea that began with creating original builds from existing LEGO sets to launching a one-of-a-kind retail experience in South Florida.
