Week two of the high school football season saw Coral Springs Charter record its lone win in the city for the second straight week.
Coming off an overtime win against Pine Crest, CSC trailed 8-3 at halftime, but scored a second-half touchdown and held on for a 10-8 victory to improve to 2-0
The Panthers will return home on Friday, September 5, to play Neumann High School at 7 p.m. The Celtics are winless in their first two games following losses to IMG Academy Junior National and Evangelical Christian High School.
J.P. Taravella was the first team in action on Thursday, losing 48-20 against Northeast High School. Next, the Trojans will play Pompano Beach High School on Thursday, September 4, at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles began the season with a win against Marathon High School, winning 35-14 last year. JPT’s previous win came against Pompano Beach High School in 2023.
Prior to their week three meeting, Coral Glades and Coral Springs High School were both in action. The Jaguars lost 31-14 against South Plantation High School. The Colts also dropped their second straight game to start the season after a 14-12 loss to Nova High School in overtime. Each team scored a touchdown in regulation and added a score in overtime, but CSHS failed to make the two-point conversion while the Titans were able to make theirs.
