Valentina Villalobos is a talented athlete and is taking on a new challenge.
A senior, she is a linebacker on the J.P. Taravella boys’ football team. Villalobos loves the challenge of competing with the boys in tackle football and has earned playing time. She plays on special teams and has recovered a fumble.
“I love being on the team, and I consider my teammates to be my brothers. I consider them to be a family. I like playing for Coach Therriman Edwards,” she said.
Edwards is impressed by the effort Villalobos has made on the Trojans’ team. “She can compete with the boys and has an important role on the team,” said Edwards.
Villalobos loves athletic competitions and plays on the basketball team and the girls’ flag football team in the spring.
A leader of the Navy JROTC program, Villalobos is a Lieutenant Jr. grade. She is a member of the color guard and looks forward to the upcoming JROTC competitions. After high school, Villalobos plans to attend college at either Florida Atlantic University or Florida State University.
