Coral Springs Charter and Coral Glades battled each other in the opening Kings of Springs Classic on Wednesday at the Country Club of Coral Springs.
Joshua Flemming took first place for the boys, shooting a 34 for the Panthers, while Brayden Peeler was one shot back and came in second. Hudson Fe and Kolton Viveros each recorded 35s with Easton Viveros and John Buono shooting three over par. Cole Fisher, Austin Passino, and Bradley Pryor all competed for the Jaguars.
Shannon Glynn continued her excellent season, leading the way with a 39 to finish in first place. Natalie Comte finished in third and shot a 41 while four Marjory Stoneman Douglas golfers placed in the top six with Andira Raton, Sophia Alana-Marks, Ella Thompson, and Devin Yale.
Next, both the Coral Springs Chatter and Coral Glades boys teams were able to qualify as a team for the Big 8 Championship. In contrast, Nico Levy qualified individually for J.P. Taravella as Cardinal Gibbons, Chaminade-Madonna, College Preparatory, Cooper City, Cypress Bay, Pembroke Pines Charter, St. Thomas, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas will all play.
For the girls, Leah Costa, Natalie Conte, and Izzy Goodman will represent the girls’ team from CSC. Brianna Gibbs and Shannon Glynn will each play for Coral Glades at the Country Club of Coral Springs on October 15. Marjory Stoneman Douglas will compete as a team alongside Cardinal Gibbons, Cypress Bay, and St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
