A Coral Springs woman was arrested after allegedly attacking two T-Mobile employees, spitting on a worker, and leaving a vodka bottle behind at Coral Square Mall.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Anna Corina Albanese, 44, was arrested October 6 on two counts of battery and one count of disorderly intoxication.
Police responded to the T-Mobile store at 9373 West Atlantic Boulevard around 2:50 p.m. after receiving a report of a battery.
When officers arrived, mall security directed them to Albanese, who had allegedly battered two employees working at the store. According to the affidavit, Albanese was visibly intoxicated and unable to cooperate with officers or answer their questions.
The employees told police that Albanese entered the store, sat in a chair, and said she needed a new phone.
One employee attempted to collect Albanese’s information and identification to assist her, but Albanese allegedly threw her identification onto a table and became belligerent. The employee told officers she followed company protocol and asked her manager for help dealing with the unruly customer.
As the employee walked away, Albanese allegedly called the employee a derogatory name. The manager came onto the sales floor and attempted to help Albanese, but the encounter quickly escalated, according to police.
Albanese allegedly became angry that the manager was not helping her and shoulder-checked the employee as she walked toward the exit. As she left the store, Albanese allegedly spit on the manager.
Police said Albanese then shoulder-checked the manager a second time before walking toward the mall’s food court. According to the affidavit, Albanese left a bottle of Skol vodka inside the T-Mobile store.
Officers described her behavior and speech as erratic and noted a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Police said her level of intoxication was evident from her behavior, speech, appearance, and the smell of alcohol.
Albanese was taken into custody and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
