After an exciting season of high school basketball, ten players and a coach were selected to the BCAA All-Star Game at Blanche Ely High School on Wednesday.
For Coral Springs High School, Noah Yehya and DeVaughn James were selected for the boys’ team after the Colts went 14-9 this season. Shemeka Mapp, Jourdin Gayle, and Cynthia Pierre Louis were chosen from the girls’ team along with Head Coach Brenton Hankerson. The Lady Colts won their second straight District Championship this season and made it to the Regional Final after winning 21 games.
The Coral Glades boys team had Greyson Thomas, and Dominic Smith picked. These two combined to score roughly 11 points and seven rebounds per game after helping the Jaguars win their first District Championship in school history. Coral Glades won 18 games and made Regionals before falling to Palmetto High School.
Jordan Pratt and Grayson Samuel were the two representatives from J.P. Taravella. Pratt led the team with 16.1 points per game, while Samuel scored nearly eight points and eight rebounds, helping JPT to go 18-8. Also, Jordan Evans recently became the third player selected to the Sixth Annual Sunshine State Premier Senior Games with Pratt and Sam Smith.
Jaeden Gasper played from Coral Springs Charter after the Panthers picked up two wins against Don Soffer Aventura and one against West Broward and Miramar High.
