A long-held event in Coral Springs has been canceled due to the planned protests honoring George Floyd.
In a statement from the city, they wrote:
“These are trying times in our nation and in our community. The right to protest and have our voices heard is one of the greatest freedoms we as a nation are afforded. Due to the planned protests honoring George Floyd and to condemn police brutality, we have decided to postpone our Teen Political Forum scheduled for June 1 at 7 p.m.
The voices, and opinions of our young adults, which have been shared over the last 14 years at TPF, is something we are incredibly proud to support and will continue to do so in the future.”
Coral Springs Talk has covered the annual event each year and we are looking forward to the next one. The 14th Annual event was scheduled to be held online due to Coronavirus.
