Three track and field teams in Coral Springs participated in the postseason before the academic year concluded.
Forest Glen Middle School
Forest Glen had their boys team led by Marcus Gentilhomme and Tristan Stephenson, who each came in third placeGentilhomme competed in the 1600 meters and then went on to place sixth at the County Championship while Gentilhomme also advanced and came in 15th. Zachary Majdoch shined in the discus and placed fourth before coming in seventh at Counties. Tyler Cline and Ayden Edmond both finished in the top ten in their events, along with all three rally teams. Jadrian De Leon Maldonado, Adahri Lamey, Logan Ramnarace, Logan Diaz, Jean Luc Yarjour, Daniel Gonzalez, Joseph Jones, Logan Ramnarace, Isaac Almeida and Devin Perez all helped Forest Glen finish sixth
Alyson Thomas advanced to Counties after coming in fourth place in the 1600 meters for the girls. She ended up placing eighth, while Jeslyn Feliz-Reynoso had the best individual result at Regionals, placing third in the high jump.
Natalia Cuevas, Mariah Demeo, Sylvia Majdoch, Melanie Concepcion Cortes, and a pair of relay teams placed in the top ten with Shaniyah Byfield, Jennayah Turner, Layla Tooley, Jeslyn Feliz-Reynoso, Ahnaya Grant, London Losse, Somayia Hall, Allison Macarulay, Ke’riyah Manning, Nickyla Alfred, Jennayah Turner, Nickyla Alfred, Somayia Hall, Mariah Demeo and Sylvia Majdoch contributing forForest Glen to place seventh
Coral Springs Middle School
Coral Springs Middle School had their 4 x 800 relay team of Darryl Casillas, Luis Cardozo, Paul Michel, and Ira Benjamin place fourth at Regionals. They had another relay team of Malichi Innis, James Binner, Caylen Rucker, and Benjamin come in eighth in the 200 meters, and Ashton Smith, Jaiden Blackshear, Jake Casillias-Bell, and Dylan Torres finish 11th in the 4 x 100 relay. Damian Diedrick and James Binner each came in the top ten for the boys, while Matthew Mofford was 12th in the 1600 meters. The team finished in 11th place.
Antonella Dominguez led the girls team, placing third in both Regionals and Counties in the 1600 meters. Terese Alba also qualified in the same event and came in ninth. They had two relay teams in the top ten, along with Lola Simcox coming in fifth at Regionals in the 800 meters and competing at Counties, placing 15th. Samantha DeGance shined in the shot put, finishing seventh. Amina Scott also finished in the top ten, competing along with Arianna Sandoval, Arianna Huriash, Isabel Hilmers, Jamyrah Joseph, Lily Smith, Arianna Sandoval, Diana Higgins, Harmony Innis, and Aricia Taylor, helping the team come in ninth
Ramblewood Middle School
Ramblewood Middle School only had a few compete, but I was impressed with the boys. Tyler Dennis finished fourth in the high jump. Moses Voltaire came in ninth in the shot pot, followed by Justin Tejada Espinoza, while Zavier Tamayo ran in the 800 meters. The girls had Tanya Standley finish 12th in the long jump, followed by Aaliyah Edwards one spot back. Summer Williams came in 13th in the discus, and Lucia Mendez finished 18th.
