A sixth suspect has been arrested in the Dec. 12 attack on a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student.
Coral Springs Police Detectives on Wednesday said they arrested Anthony Casseus, a 15-year-old Coral Glades High School student, and charged him with felony battery.
Still images pulled by police from video of the violent incident at North Community Park allegedly showed Casseus participating. Coral Springs Police released the images Monday and asked the public for help in identifying him.
“Thank you to everyone who helped us!” the department said in a Facebook post.
Casseus is the sixth high school student to be charged in the case.
The other five students named by police as participants in the attack are:
– Sylvester Hicks Jr., a 16-year-old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
– Jahmeer Beauziel, a 17-year-old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
– Caleb Hensley, a 17-year-old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
– Jordan Thompson, a 16-year-old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
– Chinua Leefatt, a 15-year-old student at Coral Glades High School.
Video footage recorded during the attack showed a student being slammed to the ground around after school in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School junior student parking lot at North Community Park in Coral Springs, according to police.
The victim was hospitalized with multiple injuries. According to online posts by numerous MSD parents, the teen suffered a fracture to his skull.
