Amanda Rather’s fourth grade class at Heron Heights Elementary School

One local class fourth grade class wrote and illustrated a children’s book raising $700 for ChildNet – a Broward County agency that helps abused and neglected children.
The students in Amanda Rather’s fourth grade class at Heron Heights Elementary School wrote and illustrated a children’s book titled “A Forever Family,” which tells the story of a brother and sister who find themselves in foster care. From inception to completion, students worked all school year to develop their unique book.
The students successfully published “A Forever Family” and raised funds by selling the book at school functions and to the neighboring community. ChildNet was honored to receive the gracious donation generated from this creative student collaboration.
Heron Heights Elementary is a Broward County Public School and is located at 11010 Nob Hill Rd, Parkland, FL 33076 and serves Coral Springs and Parkland residents.
