Established in 1992 by the Davoli family with a single eatery in Jacksonville, Metro Diner will soon offer a warm welcome to Coral Springs residents – along with indulgent comfort foods when they open their doors on March 21.
This will be the first South Florida restaurant for the eatery located at The Walk at 2864 N University Drive. Featured in an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, Metro Diner features a menu of diner classics.
Vice Mayor Dan Daley is looking forward to Metro Diner opening their doors in Coral Springs. Back when he was in Jacksonville with former State Representative Ari Porth about to catch a flight, they drove out of their way to find the place they had seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
“It was well worth the trip and I’m stoked that we don’t have to travel further than Coral Springs for our next experience,” said Daley.
Serving all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner, the diner will indulge their taste buds with new twists on traditional dishes made-from-scratch and sip on beer, wine, mimosas and bloody Mary’s.
“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” says Metro Diner founder and Chef Mark Davoli. “Coral Springs continues to be a fast growing area of South Florida and we are looking forward to becoming the go-to diner spot for all ages in the Coral Springs community.”
Being creative with food, Davoli makes sure that guests don’t have to go far to discover new delicious dishes by featuring daily blackboard specials such as Pork Chops with Spiced Apple Chutney, Croissant French Toast, Fried Chicken Benedict, Shrimp Po Boy and more. The diner prides itself on quality ingredients and a scratch kitchen where they make their own sauces, soups and compotes. In addition, Metro Diner hand cuts their home fries and cracks fresh eggs daily. From its Fried Chicken and Waffles topped with house-made strawberry butter and signature sweet and spicy sauce, to its Charleston Shrimp & Grits, the large portion sizes enable every guest to enjoy a delicious meal at a great value, with most dishes priced under $15.
The diner will feature seating for 98 guests inside and patio seating for 30 outside and will be open Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Pre-Opening Charity Events
The Coral Springs community is invited to celebrate the arrival of Metro Diner at a special pre-opening charity event where all donations will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Broward County on Saturday, March 18 and Family Central Inc. on Sunday, March 19.
Proceeds from Saturday’s event will benefit Habitat’s mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope and on Sunday, proceeds will benefit Family Central, Inc.’s mission to provide quality family support and educational services so that every child and family can succeed.
Guests who provide a donation will receive a sneak peek at the new eatery and enjoy Metro Diner favorites. Reservations can be made for the fundraiser both days from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. by calling the charity reservation line at 754-229-5820.
