A Message from Coral Springs Chief Clyde Parry
As November approaches, so does one of the most important rights ever given to any citizen in the free world, the right to vote.
This awesome right isn’t guaranteed to many around the world. To be able to have your voice heard through free and fair elections is one of the founding principles of our democracy. I hope you all participate in this process. I am dedicated to making sure everyone has the ability to cast their vote at safe and secure polling locations.
The Coral Springs FOP and the Police Department were very happy to partner with our City to provide the drive-thru Trick or Treat event for the children of our community. COVID-19 has forced us to change the way we do so many things. We were very happy that we were able to come up with a way to allow Trick or Treating to occur. I hope many of you took advantage of this event.
On November 11, we will be celebrating Veterans Day. This is the day where our country honors all of the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces.
As the son of a veteran and the father of a soldier serving in the armed forces, this day is special to me. I would like to thank all of our veterans for their service to our Country. I would ask all of you to thank a veteran for their service and sacrifice. Our veterans are the reason we enjoy the freedoms we have today!
As we approach Thanksgiving, our city is preparing for our annual Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive. I am always amazed to see how our City employees pull together to make sure everyone has a Thanksgiving dinner available to them. I am so proud to be an employee of this great city, whose employees consistently give back to the community they serve.
It has been a tough year, but I am extremely thankful for the many blessings I have in my life. I would ask all of you to take a moment to think about what you are thankful for during this holiday. I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
