Parents, educators, and Broward school administrators met at Coral Glades High School on Tuesday to learn more about the Nearpod interactive instructional delivery platform.
Dr. Sherri Wilson, Director of Innovative Learning for Broward schools, encouraged participants to learn practical strategies for supporting their students’ academic success and closing educational gaps.
Nearpod was created by Felipe Sommer, Guido Kovalskys, and Emiliano Abramzon in 2012 to reshape teaching methods and increase classroom engagement. According to the Canvas Business Model, it is an education platform with many tools for educators.
According to Wilson, teachers can create lessons on Nearpod and see how well their students master the material. Parents can see the lessons on Nearpod at home and help their children. “It brings students a higher level of engagement,” she said.
Leandro Beer, Regional Vice President of Nearpod, said there are 2,500 lessons available to teachers and tools to help educators assess students’ progress.
During the presentation, educators gave presentations on how students can engage with Nearpod’s exercises. Parents were encouraged to ask questions about the system.
Teachers can create customized lessons that cater to the individual needs of their students. They can incorporate videos, quizzes, and interactive activities to make learning more enjoyable. According to the Nearpod website, it offers real-time feedback and assessment data so teachers can monitor student progress.
