Coral Glades High School is off to a dominant start in 2024, with three varsity teams all recording impressive wins while four seniors were honored.
The boys basketball team clobbered Cypress Bay School 85-49 behind 22 points from Bryan Jean. Anthony Valdes had 13, while Kyler Theopile, Donovan Swain, and Andres Demoya were all in double figures. Coral Glades is now 12-5 this year and recognized their seniors Byran Jean, Demoya, and Valdes. They will head into their game on Thursday, January 7, at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
The girls basketball team has been improving. In their first game on Tuesday, they nearly defeated Cooper City High School but lost 42-41. They are now 3-4 this year, having beaten Plantation, Stranahan, and Everglades High School. They will play Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Thursday, January 9, at 6 p.m.
The boys soccer team recorded a 3-1 win over South Plantation High School on Tuesday to improve to 12-3. The Jaguars are on an eight-game winning streak and have only lost to Gulliver Prep, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and South Broward High School this year. Christian Wallace continues to lead the team in goals and will play Cypress Bay High School in their next game on Thursday, January 9, at 6 p.m.
The girls soccer team won 6-1 over South Plantation High School and is 5-5-2 this year. Avery Seyler scored three goals while Kylee Boyd added 2, and Alana Yasuda tallied one and had two assists. They previously won over Western, Pompano Beach, Everglades, and Coral Springs High School. They will also play Cypress Bay High School in their next game on Thursday, January 9, at 4 p.m.
