An armed home invasion robbery in Coral Springs led to a wild gun battle Monday, with the victim and one of the robbers reportedly exchanging gunfire in the street, court records show.
Deja Goods, 26, who Coral Springs Police said was working with the robbers, was arrested and charged with home invasion. She was being held without bail at the Broward Main Jail late Wednesday, records show.
According to an arrest affidavit filed by police, Goods, of Miami allegedly met the victim at GhostBar in Davie early Monday. She and another woman at the bar later accompanied the victim, whose name was not made public, to Playhouse Gentlemen’s Club in Hallandale Beach, riding to the strip club in his Maserati, records show.
Their next stop was the victim’s home, located off of Northwest 35th court in Coral Springs. Once inside, Goods allegedly unlocked the rear French doors, granting access to two armed robbers, the affidavit states.
The men walked in, pointed guns at the victim, and demanded “everything he had,” according to the records.
Fearing the robbers would kill him, the victim told police he handed them valuable jewelry including a gold chain with diamonds, worth about $50,000; a gold rope chain and pendant, worth $17,000; a diamond necklace worth $10,000; a Cartier watch with diamonds on its face, worth $22,000; a Rolex watch worth $20,000; plus two diamond rings and $50,000 in cash.
Once the men fled his home, the victim told police he grabbed his own guns, an AK-47 and 1911 handgun. He followed them outside as they entered a blue BMW, the affidavit states.
The BMW’s driver steered toward a dead end on Northwest 35th Court, then made a U-turn, driving back toward the victim. The driver then opened fire with a rifle from inside the car, the victim told police.
The victim returned fire, and “a shootout occurred in the street” before the BMW got away, according to the records.
The victim said he did not know whether either robber was wounded in the shootout.
At least one of the armed robbers was later taken in custody, the affidavit states, but court records do not indicate whether he has been charged.
