Each year, the Coral Springs Craft Guild presents scholarships to a deserving high school student who demonstrates exceptional talent in an artistic field.
With over $65,000 in scholarships awarded over the past 40 years, they continue the tradition with two $500 scholarships and one $300.
The only requirements are to be a resident of Coral Springs or Parkland or a student at a Coral Springs or Parkland school (out of area students who attend a Coral Springs/Parkland school are eligible).
Every type of art is welcome, like visual, graphic, or decorative arts, as long as it is the student’s original artwork. It does not have to be created in school or through an art program. The student does not have to be enrolled in or take an art class. Applications can be obtained through their school’s BRACE advisor or by contacting the Guild at CSCraftGuild@gmail.com.
Completed applications and artwork will be picked up from the students’ schools the morning of April 13, and returned the following day.
Created 45 years ago, members of the craft guild share their love of crafting and countless acts of service in the community. They hold a food drive at their annual Craft Show and Holiday Boutique and have collected for the homeless, pet shelters, and the Ronald McDonald House.
