Northwest Regional Library has announced the start of a new chess club on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
All ages are welcome to join, though it is recommended for those 13 and older.
Librarian Ken Engel will be leading the club, which will meet once a month. Chess sets will be provided, so all students need is their love of the game and a desire to learn.
According to Engel, students have the opportunity to learn the basics of chess, opening moves, defenses, and strategies to help improve their game. Experienced chess players will be on hand to assist with the program and answer any questions you may have.
Northwest Regional Library is located at 3151 University Drive in Coral Springs.
