The Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2025 MLK Monument Award, which honors individuals or organizations in the city who embody Dr. King’s ideals of equality, freedom, unity, and democracy.
Applications can be submitted at CoralSprings.gov/MLKMonument until 5 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025. The award aligns with the city’s permanent MLK Monument at the Northwest Regional Library, a symbol of Dr. King’s legacy.
Last year’s award was presented to Dan Bruck, owner of Kilwins in Coral Springs, for his extensive community contributions. Over the past 22 years, Bruck has supported numerous causes, including donations to local nonprofits, organizing ice cream socials for seniors, and aiding programs like Dare to Care, which feeds hundreds of families weekly.
Bruck was also recognized for his efforts in supporting the Kids of Love Foundation and the MLK Scholarship Fund through fundraising initiatives.
The MLK Monument Award highlights Coral Springs residents and organizations making a meaningful impact. Last year’s other nominees included Marcus Duncanson, Karla Garcia, and Dr. Mark Gendal.
