Florida AG: Man Arrested in Coral Springs Tied to Major South Florida Drug Trafficking Case

A Hollywood man arrested by the Coral Springs Police Department is among six suspects accused of participating in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that authorities say distributed narcotics throughout South Florida.
According to a press release from the office of Attorney General James Uthmeier, Cleon Fabian Reid, 37, was arrested on June 10 following a lengthy multi-agency investigation led by the Broward Sheriff's Office Organized Crime Unit and the Florida Office of Statewide Prosecution.
According to the Florida Attorney General's Office, Reid is charged with racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering for his alleged role in the criminal enterprise.
Investigators said the organization obtained and distributed large kilogram-level quantities of cocaine, multiple pounds of marijuana, prescription pills, and other illegal narcotics. Authorities allege members of the group also converted powdered cocaine into crack cocaine near distribution locations and used vehicles equipped with hidden compartments to transport drugs throughout South Florida.
Attorney General Uthmeier described the case as a significant blow to organized drug trafficking operations in the region.
“This joint investigation dismantled a criminal enterprise that pumped dangerous drugs into Florida communities,” Uthmeier said in a statement. “Through the tireless work of the Office of Statewide Prosecution and our great law enforcement partners, we are taking on more criminal prosecutions than ever before.”
Authorities identified the other defendants as Isaac Lakeith Bruton, Wayne Morgan Brutton Jr., Wayne Morgan Brutton Sr., Omar Dwayne Cooper, and Rene Danger Jr.
According to investigators, Bruton and Cooper are additionally charged with money laundering. Prosecutors allege the pair concealed drug proceeds by purchasing vehicles and real estate, investing in business ventures, restoring classic cars and buying jewelry.
Reid and three other defendants – Brutton Jr., Brutton Sr. and Danger Jr. – each face one count of racketeering and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering, both first-degree felonies.
If convicted, Reid could face up to 60 years in prison, according to the Attorney General's Office.
The case remains pending in court, and further investigations are underway.
