Students at Ramblewood Elementary competed in their first Lego Regional competition on February 1 at McNicol Middle School.
Coral Springs Talk has written about Fifth Grade teacher David Mankes before. He’s the teacher that won $1,000 worth of office supplies from OfficeMax back in October Coral Springs Teacher Wins $1,000 Worth of Classroom Supplies from OfficeMax.
Mankes and his team of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders took 2nd place out of the 24 teams in Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and parts of the Caribbean for their invention of a Fire Cam to help assist firefighters during wildfires. The ages of their competitors was third through eight grade.
Principal Marie Perez as well as their school are extremely proud of their teamwork and problem solving skills.
