Anthony Valdes Makes College Pick; Coral Glades Basketball Impresses in Summer League

The Coral Glades boys basketball program continues to impress, with a college commitment and soccer camp participation.

Anthony Valdes, a 2025 graduate, announced his commitment to Southern Union State Community College. He was part of the team’s 2025 District Championship, the first in school history, as a senior and played two years on varsity.

The Jaguars also opened summer play in June by earning three victories at Lynn University, defeating Wellington, Martin County and Coral Park High School. They then competed at the FABC Team Camp, finishing 1-4 against a loaded field.

Despite the record, Coral Glades was highly competitive, with two of its losses coming by just one point. Donovan Swain led the Jaguars with 13.4 points per game, while Gavin Reed and Nate Accius also averaged double figures.

Coral Glades carried that momentum into summer league play, opening with a dominant 60-27 victory over CBA Prep before advancing to the top division of the GBCA Team Camp. The Jaguars finished as one of only four teams to go undefeated in the event’s top division, posting a perfect 4-0 record against teams from around the Southeast.

Coral Glades defeated East Hall (66-35), Dothan (65-32), North Oconee (73-62) and Grayson (57-52) to complete the unbeaten run. The Jaguars are coming off a season in which they set a school record with 21 wins. They won a second straight District Championship and finished 15th in the state after reaching the Regional Final.
