Florida drivers can support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County by purchasing a specialty license plate that helps fund youth mentorship programs.
The plate costs $25 in addition to registration fees. Proceeds go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter in the county where the vehicle is registered, according to the organization.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County says 366 children are waiting to be matched with mentors. The organization estimates that sales of 150 plates can fund one new match.
“At only $25, it’s a great entry point to contribute to our mission and make it possible for us to create new matches between Bigs and Littles,” said Malena Mendez, the chapter’s president and CEO.
Drivers can learn how to purchase the plate at flhsmv.gov.
Those who receive one can submit a photo to bbbsbroward.org/licenseplate for the organization to share.
