The Coral Springs Jr. Cats will open their second season at home Sept. 25 and 26 at the Panthers IceDen, with teams competing in two United States Premier Hockey League divisions.
The organization is adding a team in the Tier II National Collegiate Development Conference, or NCDC, alongside its Premier team. The expansion follows a debut season in which the Jr. Cats won the USPHL Florida Division regular-season title.
Right wing Darius Bilotta returns to the Premier team after recording 22 goals and 24 assists in 40 games last season. He will be joined by German-born forward Dylan Bairstow, who spent the past two seasons at Ontario Hockey Academy in Canada.
The NCDC roster includes two players promoted from last season’s Premier team. Hunter Kifer, an assistant captain last season, is moving from defense to left wing for his final junior hockey season. Defenseman Steven Eberhardt also returns after finishing last season with a plus-30 rating.
The Jr. Cats have added Vertti Sakko, Noah Hammarstrom, Daniel Duzek, and Noah Spencer, a center from Caen, France, to the NCDC roster.
General admission is $5 per game for ages 13 and older. Military members and first responders’ families get free admission.
The Panthers IceDen is at 3299 Sportsplex Drive in Coral Springs.
