Jodi Antonini can remember being the drum major of the Coconut Creek High School marching band in the early 90s, and then a member of the Florida State Marching Chiefs, where she played the saxophone.
She wanted her son, Jax, an alto saxophone player, to have the same positive experiences in high school that she had. So, Jodi joined the Coral Springs Band Boosters and became a vice president.
“We show up for our kids and we want to help them have a positive band experience,” said Jodi.
The Coral Springs Charter band parents do everything possible to support the band. They lead fund-raising projects, build sets, help set up performances at football games and band competitions, and provide support wherever possible. They love being a part of the band program.
During the Coral Springs Charter homecoming celebration, the Charter band had a beehive theme. The band parents built a set with a beehive.
Band director David Cardona loves the band parents and considers them essential to the program’s success. “They work hard and coordinate many of our activities. They are important to our fund-raising efforts,” he said.
