Woody and Bandit {Broward County Animal Care}
Broward County Animal Care has named Woody, a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier, and Bandit, a 6-year-old domestic medium hair cat, as its pets of the week.
Woody (A2422324) arrived at the shelter in April as a stray from Pembroke Pines. Staff describe him as a big softie who is easygoing, affectionate, and enjoys meeting new people. Although considered a senior, Woody still has plenty of energy. He knows basic commands, such as sit and paw, and appears to be housetrained.
After nearly five months in the shelter, Woody remains hopeful for adoption. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and his adoption fees are waived. Sponsored by The Pet Project, he will also receive free food, vaccines, monthly preventatives, and more for life once adopted.
Bandit (A2431657) entered the shelter in June during a large-scale confiscation that brought in nearly 30 cats. Initially unsocialized, thin, and missing fur, Bandit has since gained weight, grown a healthy coat, and become more comfortable with people. He now greets visitors at the door, enjoys being petted and likes treats.
Bandit is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and his adoption fees are waived.
Both pets are available at Broward County Animal Care, 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale. All adopted pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters only pay $25 for the Broward County Registration Tag.
More information and adoptable pets can be found at PetAdoptions.Broward.org.
