Broward County Public Schools has extended its School Choice application window for the 2026–27 academic year, giving families additional time after the new year to apply for specialized programs and reassignment opportunities.
The application period now closes on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Families may apply for magnet programs, Nova schools, and school reassignments that allow students to attend campuses other than their assigned boundary schools.
District officials said BCPS continues to be a national leader in offering innovative and personalized learning options intended to spark student interests and prepare them for college and career pathways. Families are encouraged to review their options and familiarize themselves with the updated application process at browardschools.com/schoolchoice.
A BCPS student number is required to apply. Parents and guardians of children who will be new to the District in 2026–27 can visit any BCPS school to request a student number. A government-issued photo ID and the student’s birth certificate are required for verification.
For additional information, contact the BCPS Office of School Choice at 754-321-2480 or email schoolchoice@browardschools.com.
