Coral Springs residents will have the opportunity to connect with city officials and learn how their tax dollars are spent during the city’s annual “Budget and Brews” series, scheduled for August 18–22 at coffee shops throughout the city.
Organized by the city’s Budget & Sustainability Department, the series, now in its third year, aims to make budget planning and financial transparency more accessible in a relaxed and informal setting. During each session, staff will be available to discuss the city’s budget process, including millage rates, the allocation of funds, key performance indicators, and results from the Vision 2035 community survey. Attendees are invited to participate at no cost, with food and beverages available for purchase.
“These events are a great way to make city budgeting more approachable and meaningful,” said Ileana Kyriakides, Director of Budget & Sustainability. “It’s not just about numbers on a page—it’s about how we invest in our community’s priorities. We welcome residents and business owners to stop by, learn more, and enjoy some coffee and conversation.”
The sessions are part of the city’s broader initiative to enhance civic education, promote local businesses, and encourage open dialogue. The city’s fiscal year runs from October through September and is shaped by departmental needs, public input, and long-term strategic goals.
The event schedule is as follows:
- Monday, August 18 | 10 to 11 a.m. – Downtown Espresso, 3111 N. University Drive
- Tuesday, August 19 | 2 to 3 p.m. – Ella Cafe, 4691 N. University Drive
