Coral Glades boys and girls lacrosse team not only picked up wins on Senior Night but also outscored J.P. Taravella 33-10 in their win on Monday.
“Both of my teams played with heart and skill,” said Head Coach Kyle O’Neil. “We need to play with this much determination going forward. I’m very proud of our program today.”
The boys team won 16-7 for their second win this year, honoring Alex Minias, Marcelo Samuel, Joshua Singh, Justin Argueta, Brody Eades, Jayden Hunsinger, DJ Pauling, Jarrett Archer, Brady Champagne, Tim Brucker, Carlos Garcia Ruiz, and Diego Balancieri.
The seniors scored 16 of the team’s 17 goals, with Singh, Samuel, and Brucker all recording three. Eccleston, Pauling, and Archer all had one, while sophomore Ryan Steinberg scored one. Also, Minias led the team with four assists while Jorge Galvez had three, and Singh, Samuel, and Brucker combined for four helpers.
The girls won 16-3 and recognized Sofia Rendon, Analiesse Diaz, Nina Blatz, Allison Patino, Haylie Premo, Orianna Lopez, and Cherish Cadette to move 3-2 this year. Premo led the team with six goals, while Allura Buevlas had four, and Patino recorded three. Diaz, De Herrera, and Emily Tristan Maynard all scored one as well.
Next, both teams are set to play West Broward High School on Wednesday, March 8. The girls will play at 4 p.m., and the boys team will play at 6 p.m.
