The Coral Springs Charter Middle School track and field team impressed during Friday’s latest meet at Saint Andrew’s Middle School.
The boys team finished in first place overall and had individual winners. Eduard Sahmandura, Frankie Romano Jr., Ryan Gochin, and Shanse Small won the 4 x 100 relay, with Brandon Cordoba, Jason Robertson, Brandon Martinez, and Johnathan Dreyfuss taking first in the 4 x 400 relay.
Individually, Small won the 200 hurdles and the discus, while Ryan Gochlin took first in the shot put. He also tied for first with Jonathan Dreyfuss in the 100 hurdles. Dreyfuss also placed second in events, with Romano coming in second in the 100 meters. Jacob Montealegre, Robertson, Cordoba, Martinez, Foster, Marinello, Noah Del Pino, and Eduard Schmandura all impressed
The girls team scored second overall, 12 points behind Westminister Academy. Laurie Pierre Louis, Madison Louis, Zionah White, and Ava Dorvil led CSC to a first-place finish in the 4 x 100 relay. Chelsea Gabrizo, Sarah Manigat, Lily Ward, and Madison Louis came in second in the 4 x 400 relay, along with a runner-up finish from the 4 x 800 relay team of Hayley Lockowitz, Sydney McDougall, Holly O’Connor, and Taylor Hartley.
Individually, Ava Dorvil, Paige Lewis, and Sarah Manigat finished second in their events. Manigat also came in third in the 100 hurdles, while Ward, White, Hartley, and Garbizo came in the top five.
