The Coral Springs Charter cheerleading team honored its nine seniors during a game against North Broward Prep on October 17.
Because middle school-age students can participate in varsity sports, many of the cheerleaders have been on the team for six or seven years. They consider the team a family and love the camaraderie that comes from practicing together and cheering at games. Many of the football cheerleaders are members of the competitive cheerleading team.
“I have loved being a cheerleader for six years, and I have many friends on the team. I love Friday night lifts,” said Kaitlyn Stewart.
Lilia Conticello is a co-captain and has been a Charter cheerleader for seven years. She hopes to become a cheerleader at the University of Central Florida. “I have loved being a cheerleader and made many friends on the team,” she said.
Coach McKenzie Palumbo really loves the team and said she will miss the seniors. “We have such strong bonds, and we all really care about each other,” she said.
