Police Chief Brad Mock Quarterly Message:
First and foremost, I want to extend my sincerest thanks to our wonderful community as I begin this new role as Chief of Police for the Coral Springs Police Department (CSPD). It is truly an honor to serve a city I’ve called home since 1984 and a department I’ve proudly been a part of since 1998. Your trust means everything, and I’m committed to continuing the legacy of service, safety, and partnership that defines the Coral Springs Police Department. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various capacities—including Tactical and Gang Unit Sergeant, K-9 Unit Sergeant, SWAT Commander, Captain of Special Operations and Criminal Investigations, and Deputy Chief of Administration. These experiences have shaped my leadership and strengthened my dedication to this community. I am excited to lead our department forward, always grounded in our core values: teamwork, respect, integrity, professionalism, accountability, courage, and loyalty.
As we move into the next quarter, I’d like to share a few important updates and reminders:
Are you unsure about what’s street-legal when it comes to golf carts and low-speed vehicles (LSVs)? We’ve created a short video to help clarify the difference and ensure everyone stays safe and informed. Watch video.
April is a time to recognize those whose work is often unseen in the public eye! From April 13–19, we proudly celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety do not go unnoticed, and we thank them for all they do.
April is also Autism Awareness Month, and the CSPD remains committed to creating a community that values respect and understanding. As part of that commitment, we encourage residents to sign up their loved ones for our Special Needs Database. This voluntary program helps first responders better understand and respond to individuals with autism or other developmental and cognitive conditions during emergencies. Learn more and register here.
National Police Week takes place from May 11–17. During this time, we honor the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the country, especially those who gave their lives in the line of duty. I also want to take a moment to personally thank the men and women of the CSPD for your ongoing dedication, professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to serving our community.
First Responders Mental Health Awareness Day is recognized on May 10. Supporting the mental health and wellness of our first responders is a top priority. On this day, we recommit to breaking the stigma and ensuring our team knows that help is always available, and they are never alone.
As a friendly reminder, July is National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month. Don’t forget to lock your cars and remove any valuables to help prevent crimes of opportunity. For tips on how to prevent vehicle burglaries, watch this video.
Thank you again for your continued support and trust. It is a privilege to serve this incredible city.
