Coral Springs City Commission

From the Coral Springs City Commission:

It is hard to believe it is March already, and we are excited about all of the exciting events we have planned in the City of Coral Springs.

On Sunday, March 1, Coral Springs hosts WorldFest from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Sportsplex (2575 Sportsplex Drive). The event features cultural entertainment, cooking demonstrations, inflatables, and amusement rides.

In addition to our roadway clean up hosted every quarter, the City is proud to participate in the annual Broward County Waterway Cleanup on March 7 from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. This is a great way for studcents to earn service hours and families to work together in cleaning up our environment. Learn more at waterwaycleanup.org.

In March you have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and our great South Florida weather during Movie in the Park, Our Town America Festival and the Festival of the Arts.

The Secret Life of Pets 2, will play on a big screen at Betti Stradling Park on March 7 from 7:30-9 p.m. Our Town America Festival, an exciting 3-day event with amusement rides, entertainment, and a classic car show, takes place at Sportsplex from March 13-15.

The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts kicks off at The Walk on March 20 at 6 p.m. with a literary program at 6 p.m. the following Saturday and Sunday; the festival is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival also includes a separate Craft Festival with a full green market, as well as live, cultural entertainment.

In 2019, we voted unanimously to rename 94th Avenue, between Sample Road and 31th Court and located east of City Hall, after our late Mayor, Walter “Skip” Campbell. The formal dedication of Walter “Skip” Campbell Avenue will take place on one of his favorite days of the year, St. Patrick’s Day March 17.  Details here.

Our Commission Meetings for March will take place on the 4th at 9 a.m. and the 18th at 6:30 p.m. in Commission Chambers 9500 West Sample Road.

As always, if you would like to schedule an appointment with any of your City Officials, please call 954-344-5911.

The Coral Springs Commission is Mayor Scott Brook, Vice Mayor Joy Carter, and Commissioners Shawn Cerra, Joshua Simmons, and Larry Vignola.
