From the Coral Springs City Commission:
A new year brings new possibilities and opportunities for the City of Coral Springs to progress toward a bright and promising future.
As we continue to look ahead, residents and business owners are invited to join city leadership at the Vision 2035 Summit on Saturday, January 27, at 9 a.m. at the Coral Springs Museum of Art (2855 Coral Springs Drive.) The results of the city’s yearlong visioning process will be shared and discussed during the event. Participants may register at CoralSprings.gov/Vision2035.
Popular city events are back for another year, including Game Night at the Den, where residents can try free ice skating at the Panthers Ice Den (3299 Sportsplex Drive.) The event takes place on Friday, January 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is required and available at CoralSprings.gov/GameNight.
Additional events taking place this month include Family Fun Night on Wednesday, January 10, and the return of the popular toddler program, Juice Box Jam, on Thursday, January 18. Information about all city events can be found at CoralSprings.gov/Events.
As a city, we strive to honor those who enrich our community most through meaningful awards and recognition. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2024 MLK Monument Award. The award is given annually to an individual or organization in Coral Springs who embodies the ideals of Dr. King. Applications can be submitted at CoralSprings.gov/MLKMonument. The deadline to submit applications is January 19, 2024.
Dedicated to honoring local businesses that contribute to the financial vitality of the city, the City of Coral Springs Economic Development Office is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Business Excellence Awards. The awards are given annually to businesses located in Coral Springs that exemplify good business practices in one of seven categories. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, February 29, at CoralSprings.gov/BEA.
As we move into 2024, we are thankful for the residents, community members, and sponsors who attended and supported our 60th Anniversary events throughout 2023. To commemorate our 60th year, a permanent public art sculpture has been installed near the Museum of Coral Springs History (10250 NW 29th Street), which chronicles our historic milestones and important moments as a city. The sculpture is free and open to the public.
This month’s Commission Meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 18, at 6:30 p.m. As always, the public is invited to attend Commission meetings. The meetings are aired on CityTV, Blue Stream Channels 25, 25.7, and 725, and on AT&T U-Verse channel 99. Meetings are also live-streamed on CityTV.
