Data released by the Florida Department of Health on February 23 show 4,81,888 – or 13.34 percent of Floridians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Florida, as a whole, has fully vaccinated 6.99-percent of its population.

Broward County has administered a total of 370,438 doses of the vaccine, and 136,869 people are now totally vaccinated. Overall, 7.17-percent of Floridians have been fully vaccinated, a roughly half-a-percent increase since February 22.

In COVID-19 cases, 139,810 tests were conducted on February 23. Out of those, 10,550 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 7,087 were those finding out they had tested positive for the first time.

While testing and cases rose, the positivity rate declined to 7.55-percent, a steady decrease compared to the numbers reported earlier this week.

Coral Springs has reported a total of 10,778 total positive COVID-19 cases — an increase of 63 positive cases since February 22.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,885,661 positive cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 23 was 38-years-old, slightly younger than usual. For months, the average Floridian to test positive has hovered between 39 and 42-years-old.

Since the pandemic began, 78,477 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 30,340 have died. Of the total deaths, 2,361 were from Broward County, with an increase of 51 new deaths since February 22.
