Coral Springs Football Teams Look Ahead Following Another Tough Week

The tough stretch continued for Coral Springs football teams this week, with four teams suffering losses.
Coral Springs High School opened the week Wednesday night against Plantation High School. Despite scoring its first touchdown of the season, the Colts fell 36-6. Dedan Nottingham accounted for the touchdown for Coral Springs, which dropped to 0-4 after forfeiting its first two games before losing to Marjory Stoneman Douglas in its previous matchup.
The Colts will host South Broward High School next. The Bulldogs are 2-1 this season, earning wins over Everglades and Stranahan High School while suffering a loss to Fort Lauderdale High School.
Coral Glades also came up short, falling to Park Vista Community High School 41-13 despite a standout performance from McKendrick Thomas. He caught two touchdown passes from Kayo Derezende and finished with more than 100 receiving yards. His first score came on an impressive catch in the corner of the end zone during the first half before he broke free for another touchdown later in the game.
The Jaguars are now 1-3 and will travel to face Nova High School next. The teams met last season, with Nova earning a 19-10 victory. The Titans are 1-2 this year, with their lone win coming against Hallandale High School.
J.P. Taravella High School faced Pembroke Pines Charter on the road and lost, falling to 1-3 this season. Jeremiah Ismael scored the lone touchdown as the Trojans will have a week off before returning to action against South Broward High School.
Parkridge Christian High School also played Friday night against Boca Raton Christian High School and suffered a 61-0 loss. The Panthers are 1-3 in their inaugural season, with their lone victory coming against Babcock High School. They will next face Palm Beach City Prep.
Coral Springs Charter had a bye this week and will look for its first victory of the season when the Panthers face Pompano Beach High School. The Golden Tornadoes enter the matchup with a 1-3 record.
