Jeannie DeMarzo of Coral Springs harbors a huge passion for sports, but her highest priority is making a positive difference in a child’s life and the family of a child with special needs.
That’s why she’s motivating her Danielle DeMarzo Foundation (DDF) to host its first-ever Super Bowl Party to “kick-off” the new year for the families she serves.
Frank, Jeannie, and their two daughters, Jennifer and Danielle, founded the organization in 2000 after their daughter Danielle was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome.
“Everyone loves football, and everyone watches the Super Bowl,” said Jeannie. “So I thought it would great for all of us to watch it together.”
The DDF’s Family Super Bowl Watch Party will run its first play at 6 p.m. on Feb 9 at Quarterdeck Restaurant, 3155 S. University Drive in Davie, and the cost is free.
Dress is casual, and Jeannie encourages everyone to wear their favorite team colors and football/sports attire. The actual Super Bowl kick-off will be at 6:30 p.m. Parking is available at the restaurant. In addition to fun games, prizes, and giveaways, DDF will provide a limited buffet menu for this event at no cost to DDF families and guests.
“I always love seeing all our families and welcoming new ones,” Jeannie said. “It has always been my passion to create an opportunity outside of doctor visits and hospital settings for the kids to interact with other children and parents to meet other parents. I’m so thankful and feel so blessed our Foundation is able to provide these opportunities for new friendships and memories.”
RSVP by Feb. 5 is mandatory, and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. You may RSVP by phone at 866-295-KIDS (5437). Include first and last name, number of people in your group (adults/children), and a contact phone number with your response.
“2025 is officially underway, and we are starting to plan our events and activities for the year,” Jeannie said. “Everyone loves football.”
Food buffet menu items will include the following: Pulled Pork Sliders, Burger Sliders, Chicken Wings, Baked Ziti, French Fries, Nachos, Chips, Salsa, Sheet Cake Dessert, Soda/Ice Tea/Water.
All DDF families and guests may also have the option to order from the Quarterdeck Restaurant menu at their own expense.
The Foundation is managed by a nine-member board of directors, each with professional expertise and personal experience in growth-related disorders, education, child advocacy, disabilities, legal, accounting, and non-profit groups. A volunteer organization, DDF has no paid employees.
