It was a special day for the Coral Springs High School girls cross country. Not only were they celebrating Senior Day, the Colts finished in third place in an extremely tight race.
The Colts competed against Fort Lauderdale, Western, and Nova High School in Coconut Creek. Before the race, seniors Faith Cunningham, Hannah Bazan, Arianna Negron, Ariella Pierre, Lavelle Francis, Julia Fendell were honored.
However, it was Angelica Macarulay who had the top time for the Colts. She finished third overall at 24:04.02. Bazan finished first among the seniors and placed in 12th place, followed by Briana Williams in 13th.
CSHS had four girls finish between 15-20 in Fendell, Lea Ramnarce, Negron, and Cunningham, while the entire team finished 35th overall or better.
The Colts finished 1:25 seconds behind Western High School for third place. Fort Lauderdale High School won the race with a time of 2:01:31.
